Our Story: TeaTrailTrekker
It was a not-so-distant past when TeaTrailTrekker started as a dream for its founder, Nisha Sewmini - a Chinese interpreter for many years who stood behind everyone so as to translate the very many uttered words and fill the communication gaps. But it was not until an office mate approached her and asked for help with organizing a family holiday to Sri-Lanka that she was able to find the meaning in herself. Initially, it felt like one of those projects when you put your country on the map for touristic purposes, but it turned out to be a lot more than that.

It was not just a simple tour that Nisha was providing; she took a cultural tourism perspective and made sure that the family would experience everything Sri Lanka has to offer, to its fullest. And as a planner and a budgeter that she is, she was able to design a tour that was also cost effective and most of all, was enjoyable. Even going off the beaten track to include places such as busy city markets, beautiful tea estates, secluded waterfalls, and historical sites, she opened up a Sri Lanka that most tourists would not have access to. In the process, Nisha unearthed an astonishing truth about herself - the gift of guiding – extraordinary and above all, completely natural. She found it easy to engage people having them trust her judgment while also being able to predict their demands and know how to satisfy them.

By the time this journey came to its conclusion, the family was enthusiastic about the way this trip had been organized by Nisha: the logistical aspects, but also what stories and how she told about the people and history of Sri Lanka. They pledged to come back, wanting to see more of her than ever before. That was the moment when Nisha acknowledged that it was what she was meant to do.
With this kind of response, it was only natural that she went for it and established TeaTrailTrekker. Using her experience and innate ability to come up with interesting travel designs, Nisha now presents staged holidays which take little time, cost less money and a plenty of adventure packed in them. Trust her, while you will not only go to Sri Lanka, you will also experience the country in a way that you have never done before.
Our Mission:
At TeaTrailTrekker, we take it as our responsibility to enhance memorable and true travel experiences in Sri Lanka by designing and offering committed, cheap and enjoyment filled tours. We seek to unveil the real essence of Sri Lanka as it is found at the core of the island’s culture,- its people and history and other related attractions in this site, with perfect and careful arrangements, great attention and cordial relationships. We believe every journey has a story worth telling therefore we embark on every exploration as a quest that seeks the extraordinary and the memorable enrichment.

We see ourselves as the foremost creative travel agency in Sri Lanka, otherwise known as a boutique travel agency, which is famous for providing completely different experiences well off the beaten path. We would like to change the way travelers in Sri Lanka appreciate the land’s beauty and the cultural diversity of its people. By putting our knowledge and logistical support as well as our warm picnic hand in hand, we are determined to change the way travelers explore Sri Lanka. Making sure that every traveller indeed goes back home touched by the land and the people and the culture.
